From the Cru Beaujolais region of Morgon, Domaine Lapierres's Villié-Morgon vineyard is comprised of decomposed rocks and crumbly schist. Owned and run by Marcel and Mathieu Lapierre, the vines are raised without the use of artificial fertilizers or herbicides; the father-son team have also been experimenting biodynamics on some of their older vines. This natural wine is full of red fruit, with a lushness and freshness that set it apart from many Beaujolais. If you haven't tried a Cru Beaujolais before, this gem is a great place to start.
