Abbazia di Novacella Pinot Nero, grown in Appiano at 1380 feet above sea level (420 mt), the vines are raised in gravelly morainic soil. A two week fermentation, exclusively with indigenous yeasts, takes place in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation and maturation occur in 60 hectoliter oak casks for six months.
