Tentenublo Rioja Tinto 2019

This is Roberto’s village wine, highlighting the special structure and energy imparted by Viñaspre’s sandstone terroirs. A blend of red and white grapes 60% Tempranillo, 30% Garnacha, and 10% Viura from four hectares of 20- to 100-year-old head-trained vines spread across eight vineyards: In the cellar, each parcel is vinified separately. Native yeast fermentation occurs in open stainless steel tanks of various sizes. The grapes are foot-trodden, with an average of 20% whole clusters; maceration lasts 10-12 days, with gentle punch-downs. The wines are then aged individually in large barrels and foudres for 8 months before blending in concrete tank, where the finished wine harmonizes for two months before bottling with a light filtration.
