In 1865, a duo from England named John Davy and Francis Gooding purchased land overlooking the Albert River. They named the glade after their old Devonshire farm, which was called Beenleigh. Originally, they intended to grow cotton on this land, but a more lucrative alternative presented itself: sugarcane. This rum from Australia has been refined for several months in the cellars of Château du Breuil. To give this rum a more complex aromatic palette and melt its tannins, our cellar master let it rest in an American oak barrel that had previously contained a cognac-based spirit drink. An ample rum with silky tannins.
