The vines for our dry clay slate Riesling grow mostly in the upper part of the Oberhauser Leistenberg, which is located in the immediate vicinity of our winery. The steep slopes there consist mainly of dark clay slate or carbon slate. The Riesling that grows on these slate sites impresses with its sophisticated fruit aroma and fine acidity! For this reason, the characterful dry Rieslings from these soils bear the name of this ancient rock. After a selective hand-picking, the grapes are gently aged in stainless steel containers and large oak barrels to create a true classic from our winery.
