Know Before You GoReserve Early

Popular beers, weekends, and major holidays can book quickly.

Plan the PickupBring the Right Vehicle

Full kegs are heavy and need a stable, protected ride home.

Pour Better BeerDon’t Forget Ice

A properly chilled keg pours cleaner, calmer beer with less foam.

After the PartyReturn the Equipment

Keep your receipt and return keg shells and rented equipment as instructed.

Compare the Options

Not every party needs the biggest keg.

Start with the number of beer servings you expect, then consider whether wine, cocktails, or spirits will also be available. The best keg is the one that fits the crowd, the service setup, and the space you have to keep it cold.

Which Keg Should I Choose?

Use the beer total from the TPS Drink Calculator—or make your best estimate.

Your Starting Point

¼ Barrel or Slim ¼ Barrel

About 82 controlled twelve-ounce pours. Serving wine or cocktails too? This may be plenty. Beer is the main attraction? Consider a little extra capacity.

From Reservation to Return

Know what happens before and after the party.

Exact deposits, availability, rental terms, and return instructions can vary. Confirm the details with our Beer Department when reserving your keg.

Before Pickup

Reserve early, especially for specific brands, holidays, and high-demand weekends.
Confirm the keg size, pickup time, deposit, and required tap or coupler.
Make sure the keg will fit your vehicle, refrigerator, kegerator, or cooling tub.
Bring a strong helper. Full kegs are awkward and significantly heavier than they look.
Transport the keg upright and secure it so it cannot roll or shift.
Allow the keg to settle after transportation before tapping and serving.

After the Party

Keep the keg shell, rented tap, tub, and other returnable equipment together.
Keep your receipt and any deposit or rental paperwork.
Return equipment within the agreed time window and in reasonable condition.
Do not discard or damage the keg shell; it remains brewery property.
Contact the Beer Team when a pickup or return detail is unclear.
Celebrate the cleanest possible ending: everything returned, everything accounted for.
