Two nice things about getting old are, the Scotch gets older—and your friends do, too. Duncan Taylor is one of the leading lights of Scotland’s independent bottler scene for more than two decades, and a longtime partner of The Party Source. I’ve enjoyed their return to our shelves (with a new shipment arriving late last month, see below!), but even better is the chance to work again with their importer, Peter Currie. I met Pete in 2005, when he was a wee lad working as a distillery tour ambassador (it was Springbank!), and we’ve been pals in the whisky industry ever since. Mr. Currie visited us in April for another tasting, and we’ll do more in the months to come. For the moment…we got new Scotches! And the prices are very impressive, considering these are sherry cask-finished, cask-strength whiskies.
